So you’re moving to Riviera 3, Cocody — or maybe just visiting for a while — and wondering what to do, where to go, and how to make the most of your time in this chic, green, and lively neighborhood of Abidjan?

Whether you’re an expat/repat family settling down near the International Community School of Abidjan (ICSA) or a solo traveler looking to explore beyond the basics, this guide has you covered. Riviera 3 isn’t just a residential area — it’s full of local gems, delicious eats, wellness spots, shopping, and community energy.

Let’s dive into my curated list of must-visit places in Riviera 3 that locals love — and you will too!

Parc Dominique Ouattara – The Green Heart of Riviera 3

This park was one of my favorite spots to go when we lived in Cocody. It’s a gem and one of the best places to unwind outdoors in Riviera 3. Designed as a multifunctional urban space, the Parc Dominique Ouattara is ideal for:

  • Family playtime with kids
  • Cycling, roller skating, or football
  • Reading or relaxing under shady trees
  • Light picnics or morning walks

What’s inside:

  • A relaxing three-level fountain centerpiece
  • A 400 m² shaded pergola
  • A spiral-shaped “river bench” over 200 meters long
  • A 500 m² playground and 800 m² skatepark
  • Multi-sport courts and a 500-seat amphitheater

Bonus: There are local snack vendors selling popcorn and cotton candy on-site.
Entry is free (ID check required at the gate)
Located at the Mel Theodore Roundabout (by the Jacques Prévert school), Riviera 3

Bring your kids, a yoga mat, or a book — this place is for everyone.

What to try:

  • Local-style pastels and crispy galettes
  • Juicy burgers (including vegetarian options)

iGarba – Traditional Street Food, Elevated

Garba is a beloved Ivorian dish made with fermented cassava cuscus (attiéké) and tuna. It’s usually sold in the streets and eaten outdoors. iGarba takes this classic and reimagines it for modern tastes.

Why go:

  • Clean, air-conditioned dining space
  • Great for trying local food without the street hustle
  • Free Wi-Fi and quick service
  • Combo menus: from 2,000 FCFA for one to 10,000 FCFA for groups.

Pair your dish with a fresh ginger, tamarind, or hibiscus juice for the full experience.

Carrefour Blaise Pascal  – Grilled Chicken Heaven in Cocody Riviera 3

Across from Le Bon Pasteur Church, this street corner turns into a grill lover’s paradise in the evenings. You’ll find:

  • Whole grilled chicken (around 4,000 FCFA)
  • Chicken skewers, “poulet piqué”
  • Side dishes like alloco or attieke

Expect smoky flavors, friendly vendors, and a no-fuss, authentic vibe. Great for takeaway on busy nights when you don’t want to cook.

Saturday Morning Fitness at Cap Nord Cocody Riviera 3 – Workout with the Community

Looking to stay active without spending big bucks? Head to the Cap Nord parking lot every Saturday from 6:00 AM to 8:30 AM for an energizing fitness session with professional coaches.

On the program:

  • Stretching and toning
  • High-energy cardio
  • Djamboola (think Zumba but to Ivorian hits)

It’s welcoming, sweaty, and seriously fun. You’ll meet locals, expats, fitness enthusiasts, and friendly neighbors.

Equinox – For a Premium Gym + Spa Experience in Cocody Riviera 3

If you want a fancier fitness option or prefer going multiple times a week, Equinox is Riviera 3’s go-to premium gym.

What’s included:
