21 Engaging Amazon Kids Shows in French to Help Your Preschooler Learn French

21 Amazon kids shows in French

This article is an update to one I wrote back in 2022 about six Amazon kids shows in French.

Three years later, my preschooler is now a confident, bilingual 7-year-old. She still enjoys watching cartoons in both French and English. Since we moved to a French-speaking country, she has seamlessly integrated into the local school system.

The success of raising my daughter to be fully bilingual isn’t solely due to her watching French cartoons. But I can definitely say that being intentional about the language she watched her shows in helped reinforce her French language skills.

Are you looking for kids shows on Amazon Prime to help your preschooler learn French?  This article is for you. I’ll share with you 21 shows you can find in French on Amazon Prime and why I like them!

What Makes Watching Shows a Good Tool for Learning French?

  1. It’s convenient for parents: Watching shows doesn’t require much effort to integrate into daily routines. It doesn’t replace speaking with you your bilingual kid. But it’s an easy way to reinforce language learning.
  2. Many Amazon kids shows in French are based on books: Many shows, like Llama Llama or If You Give a Mouse a Cookie, are adapted from books. Getting the books in the target language can help reinforce vocabulary and themes.
  3. Shows usually incorporate music: Many shows feature catchy songs, which is an effective way to learn and remember a new language.
  4. Watching shows in French is fun for kids: Watching a show they enjoy makes language practice feel like play rather than work.
  5. It’s affordable: It’s a low-cost option for language learning.
